Poli believes that a spirit of collaboration, openness and trust within and beyond project teams is one of the key ingredients to a successful, sustainable built environment. Thus, in her role she works closely with design teams and our BIM manager, championing collaborative design processes through the use of building information models.
Since joining, she has led the design and delivery of a number of projects most recently including Television Centre Plot D and Woodward Road.
While active in multiple projects in different sectors, Poli has particular experience in specialist housing and mixed-use developments. Within the practice Poli’s focus is the betterment of design strategies and workflows, through testing, research and innovation; and she champions the integration of tools that can help us design more efficient and sustainable outcomes.
Beyond practice Poli has been involved in student mentoring schemes with the Royal College of Art and youth organizations such as inspire!. She also co-leads the ‘We are not bad kids’ campaign alongside Miranda Maclaren and Heather Macey. There is currently no guidance for the design of emergency accommodation for young homeless people. The campaign itself calls for local authorities to urgently address the neglected policy area, and raise the bar in emergency accommodation for young people. The campaign is a culmination of years of interdisciplinary collaborative research into homelessness and specialist accommodation in the UK.
