Alex is a highly adept and experienced architect. Since joining Morris+Company he has worked on a number of residential-led projects in Southwark, Tower Hamlets and Barking & Dagenham, amongst others. As housing studio co-lead alongside Miranda, he takes an overview of all housing projects, advising as a housing specialist.

He is highly experienced in the design and delivery of complex new-build and refurbishment projects at a range of scales across several sectors including housing, workplace and community (encompassing education, culture and mixed-use projects). Many of these projects have been recognised with prestigious design awards.

Within Morris+Company, Alex’s focus lies within the housing sector where he takes an overview across the practice’s portfolio, alongside co-leading on new business development. Recent projects include Aberfeldy Village in Tower Hamlets (260 new homes across 4 plots as part of a wider masterplan); Brocklebank Lodge in Barking and Dagenham (a 100% affordable housing development also accommodating specialist housing for people with autism); and Old Kent Road in Southwark (a 450-home housing-led mixed-use development within the Old Kent Road Opportunity Area).

Prior to working in practice, Alex graduated from Newcastle University with First Class Honours in 2001 and was awarded the William Bell Travel Scholarship Award for Outstanding Design Thesis Work. He completed his professional practice qualifications in 2003.

Beyond the practice, Alex has lectured widely across the UK and has acted as an external examiner and visiting critic at several universities including UCA Canterbury, The London School of Architecture, The Cass and Newcastle University. Alex also acts as a jury member on several design awards panels.
